The Online Business Community

OK Guys Another site that i think must feature in this blog, is LinkedIn also known as the world's largest professional network. I understand that this is not classed as a private community, but i think that the features and benefits that it packs should not go without notice.

In the short introduction video below, we are shown how linked in can improve any businesses by providing helpful contacts to help solve any problem - for this aspect i would class LinkedIn as a 'Community' in the sense that it is a group of users coming together to help each other accomplish specific aims.

LinkedIn not only allows its user to network on a very large scale, its also allows its users to promote themselves in what ever profession they may be in. One service that they provide is their job discovery portal which allows users to discover jobs inside connections when their looking for a job or new business opportunity. Which has proved to very popular amongst their customers.

Wow I didn't know that any website like this existed. It's almost like a B2B online community. But my concerns with this kind of community is that how do you know whether a business can be trusted? Does the website give people to chance to review and rate a business or service they used or found helpful?

If they offer the options to review and rate businesses and services then I think the website will be widely used amongst organisations.

Another advantage of this website is that you can find an employee or a potential employee without having to pay agency fees to any job agency.

Unfortunately there is no service in place to actually rate these contacts, its only providing the platform to allow users to utilise. But I think that will be a very useful feature that they might consider utilising in the near future (who really knows).

Yes about the job agency, I also believe that’s one of the main reasons why LinkedIn has proved so popular for jobseekers - it places them directly in the door of the company without agency fees.
