This online community is targeted at people "born between 1946 and 1964". It's almost like facebook, but for the "over 60's" as they say. You can privatise your profile as much as you want, or share things with the public. You can also join groups that interest you or create yours, play games, share photos and so on.
I can see this website being or becoming popular for older people. It looks easy to use, less sophistication and options (for an old person) unlike facebook. The fact that they can see that the majority of people registered on the website are of similar age with them will make them feel more comfortable about using the site, and will therefore make the website quite addictive.
What do you guys think? IT'S NOT A DATING WEBSITE!!!

This site is quite interesting because it is targeted at a specific group but I don't think that it will grow in the industry though because I don't really see the over 60s spending much time online. It is a good idea though
Yea I also agree with Kim. Its targeted Market i think are very small. However it is an online community that allows them to socialise and discuss topics of interest.
Can Anyone produce any advantages or even disadvantages to this online community?
Well I can tell you now that you'd be amazed at how many over 60's have access to the internet these days. Computers are now cheap to buy and in some cases some medium speed broadband are free. So more old people now have access and spend time online.
Mind you they have already had their kids and retired from their jobs which can cause them to be lonely. A site like this can be their answer to facebook whenever they are bored or lonely.
@Derick About its disadvantages, criminals could use the website to target old vulnerable people. They could pose as someone else and deceive the unlucky naive honest members of this online community into sending cash, or they might even try to find out where they live and rob them.

The advantage was that boomers(people born in the generation in the 1950s) would not have to think about retiring. You can find someone to go on holiday with.they even created things called SKITS (spend your kids inheritance tours)where they go on cruiseships and vegas. so to some extent it does provide for the lonely people.
